Noeli Zarate received the top score of 5 by getting every possible point on the difficult test, according to a Facebook post by the high school.

“Her performance on the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam was so superior that it falls into a rather select category,” school officials noted.

Millions of high school students around the globe take the advanced placement exams in 37 different subjects annually, but only 322 achieved perfect scores last year, according to the post.

At least two other Southern California students can also tout that accomplishment: Cedrick Argueta, a senior at Abraham Lincoln High School in Lincoln Heights, earned a perfect score on the AP Calculus exam; and Sarah Ki, a junior at Santiago High School in Corona, received a perfect score on the AP Studio Art Drawing exam.

The Santa Ana school district publicly congratulated Zarate on its website and Facebook page, calling her a “brilliant young lady.”
