A driver was arrested after fatally striking a pedestrian in Santa Ana on Tuesday, police reported.
The fatal crash happened around 1:40 p.m. in the area of Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department reported.
Surveillance video shows a white BMW being involved in the fatal crash. Police said the driver, Kevin Guardado, had a green light but for some reason the victim was in the crosswalk attempting to cross the street.
Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna told KTLA Guardado, 26, stood at the scene, but was later taken into custody after officers suspected he may have been under the influence.
Bristol Street, from Bishop Street to Wilshire Avenue, was closed in all directions.
McFadden Avenue was also closed in all directions from Pacific Avenue to Shelton Street.
