Police are searching for a theft suspect who assaulted a grocery store worker in Orange County.
The incident occurred on Aug. 26 at a Stater Bros. supermarket located at 2630 W. Edinger Ave. in Santa Ana.
Witnesses said the woman entered the store, took items off the shelves and placed them inside a large tote bag, according to Santa Ana police.
She attempted to leave the store without paying and was stopped by employees.
Surveillance cameras captured the assistant manager confronting the woman outside the entrance.
As he attempts to take her bag, she punches him in the face. Another worker attempts to take her bicycle to prevent her from leaving but she hangs on to it.

The woman eventually fled the area on her bike. On Sept. 18, police confirmed the woman remains at large.
She was last seen wearing all-black clothing, a black hat, some jewelry and was carrying a large, black purse.
Her black mountain bike has large white lettering on the lower frame area, police said.
